3:30 today is Christmas in your neighborhood - we will be going back into the same neighborhoods that we were in for vacation Bible school to tell them about the real meaning of Christmas.

Sunday, December 20th:

children's night at Christmas. this is the night we will bring our gifts for the children that were assigned to our class. as of now, we only need $30 more! we have bought everything that the children asked for or that was on their list! thanks for being faithful!

Sunday, December 13th prayer requests

david & brandi:

david's aunt margaret does have ovarian cancer and is having surgery tomorrow. brandi is taking her g.r.e. exam tomorrow!

tommy & suzanne:

tommy's mom, linda, went home from the hospital on wednesday. she is doing better - just regaining strength.

kevin & demetria:

demetria's mom is getting married - mixed emotions about this. they have been seeing each other 5 weeks (met at church) and plan to get married in about a month or so. demetria will meet him next weekend at the family Christmas. kaden will be 7 years old on tuesday!

mike & erin:

3 weeks to go until baby micah arrives! also, tomorrow is their 7th anniversary!

jeff & emily:

audrey is home sick today - hopefully not the stomach virus. jeff found someone to help him, but she doesn't start until february.

jeff & becca were married on friday here at the church.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6th:

if you have not been to Rejoice!, please make plans to come tonight! tonight will be your final chance to see this Christmas celebration! 7:00 in the worship center!

MONDAY, DECEMBER 7th:

ladies, time for our annual ornament swap! bring an ornament and an appetizer to Chasity Reeves' house at 7:00. please email lucaslifegroup@hotmail.com if you need directions to her house!

before WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9th:

"help us get the word out about "Christmas in Your Neighborhood". just pick up a bag off of one of the tables in the main hallway downstairs. it will include a map with a street highlighted and enough flyers for you to place a flyer in the door-jamb of each house on that street. Do it on your own time, mark the map with the word "DONE" and return it to the welcome center by this wednesday, december 9th.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13th:

"Christmas in Your Neighborhood" is at 3:30. we need people to bring cookies to church that morning to have at each neighborhood!

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13th:

we will have a baby shower for erin and mike thomas during lifegroup. we will be giving them a cash gift or a gift card (she uses cloth diapers).

EXTRA:

for the children's night at Christmas (it will be december 20th), i (suzanne) went ahead and shopped. we had raised $130 the last week i was here (we were gone at thanksgiving) and geno gave me $60 from last week. i got $10 today. so i've gotten a total of $200.

so far, i have spent $306. i only have 2 more things to get for one child and we got everything that was on the others' lists!

normally, the girls in the class go to dinner and then shopping. this year, we thought that we would just get together at someone's house and have a "wrapping" party. we can get a few pizzas and just split up the cost there (so that we don't have to worry about making a dish, etc).

PLEASE BE THINKING ABOUT A DATE! this HAS to be done this week or next week since the children's night at Christmas is on the 20th!!!!!

tommy & suzanne:

tommy's mom is in the hospital with double pneumonia. she is also having some pain in her kidneys, but the doctors think that it is related to the pneumonia. she will be in the hospital probably until tuesday.

roger & wendy:

remember Christians as we celebrate CHRISTmas. over the years we are being challenged more and more.......

jessica:

asked to stay on another month for deployment (is at scott air field in missouri). she will be able to come home for the wedding.

shan & jenny:

shan's birthday is tuesday! he will be 32!

david & brandi:

david's aunt (margaret) in meridian has places on her liver and uterus. she is going to the dr in birmingham this week.

drew mcdonald:

dad (bill) diagnosed with esophageal cancer this week

brie & tc:

brie has a dr appointment this week

brother larry kulcke:

having outpatient surgery tomorrow

kevin & demetria:

russ has a dr appointment tomorrow (she thinks that he may be allergic to something that is messing his stomach up). also, demetria has a dr appointment on tuesday. pray for hugh and tiffany (demetria's brother/sister-in-law) as they prepare to move back home in the next 6 months or so.

jeff & becca:

pray for those traveling into town for the wedding (THIS FRIDAY!!!) and for jeff and becca!

jenn's mom:

her brother in california is in the hospital with gallstones. also, she asked for prayer for herself and her family.
